Onuimo Roads: Fix Egbeaguru Roads, IMHA T0 Uzodinma …As Esile moves motion

Following the outcry  by the people of Umuna-Umuduru and Egbeaguru in Onuimo LGA,Imo State over the bad nature of their roads, the Imo State House of Assembly has drawn the attention of the governor, Sen.Hope Uzodinma to address the poor condition of these  roads.

The call was made following the adoption of the motion moved by the member representing Onuimo State Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon.James Uba Esile.

Presenting the motion, the Lawmaker said that his Constituents have experienced many difficulties in  navigating their local roads because of its poor condition.

He stated that among all the roads, that the worst hit are Umuna-Umuduru and Egbeaguru links road that connects to Ndi-Uwa in Ideato North LGA.

Hon.Esile, noted that due to the strategic position of Onuimo LGA that  serves as a link to other neighbouring communities, that it is paramount to fix its roads.

“Onuimo LGA is connected to Ideato North LGA through a major link road that started from Okohia Autonomous Community in Umuna Onuimo LGA through Owere Okwe Autonomous Community,Eziama Autonomous Community, Okohia Autonomous Community Umuduru Egbeaguru Okpu Ala Aboh Umuduru Egbeaguru Autonomous community.ofeahia Autonomous Community Umuduru Egbeaguru all in Onuimo LGA which are directly connected with Ndi Adimo and Ndi Awa Communities in Ideato North”

He further informed that over 75% of Ndi Onuimo access their homes, farmlands, markets through the link roads.

Hon.Esile expressed concern that the raining season is almost here which will further aggravate the already bad condition if nothing urgent is done to remedy the situation.

The Onuimo lawmaker,  commended the Governor on his swift response to the gully erosion challenges facing his Constituents and maintained that he is of the positive view that same measure will be applied to the roads so that his people who are majorly farmers will heave sigh of relief.

After long deliberations, the House resolved to urge the Governor to direct the Ministry of Works to urgently visit, inspect and commence the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the major link roads.
